Contact lens for children

Specialized adaptation center for children in order to equip them with flexible or rigid custom-made contact lenses.
Ametropia: Myopic, Hyperopic, uni lateral correction.

The refractive errors of the eye (Hyperopia, Myopia, Astigmatism) which add to the functional deficiency of the retina must be corrected as soon as possible by glasses or rigid contact lenses filtering UV.

Rigid lenses provide optimal optical correction with excellent astigmatism correction and often lead to a reduction in nystagmus (jerky and permanent movement of the eyes) thereby improving central visual acuity.

Correction with rigid lenses is possible from an early age (before the age of 6 months), favoring the development of the visual system which is still immature at this age.

The optical correction must be maximum.

Photophobia can be relieved and the retina protected by wearing hats and sunglasses. Polarized lenses are recommended.

Functional signs can thus decrease significantly and an improvement in visual behavior can be noted.

Eye problems caused by nystagmus, strabismus, macular hypoplasia and abnormalities in the development of the optic pathways cannot be corrected by wearing glasses or contact lenses.

Visual aids (magnifying glasses, telephoto magnifier, computer with magnification software) can be used to improve near vision, in particular at school and at work.

Not wanting to distinguish themselves from their classmates, adolescents often refuse too conspicuous materials. They can be offered discreet and effective visual aids such as the pocket-sized illuminating magnifier for near vision and the monocular for far vision.

All of our custom-made contact lens equipment is made from a corneal topography.

Contact lenses in children are more for medical indication.

Oxygen permeable rigid lenses should be the lenses of first intention when it comes to the demands of visual results and corneal durability.
